![]() Warm Up
![]() Let's move our bodies to show the parts of words
called syllables. We'll stand up for the first part, and then sit
down for the second part.
Watch me do it for the first word. The word is "pencil." It has two parts, "pen" and "cil." I will say the first part while I stand up. Watch me: "pen" (stand). The second part of the word is "cil." I'll say it as I sit down: "cil" (sit). Put it together: "pencil." ![]()
![]() ![]() Let's try the word "paper" together. Ready?
Stand up with me and say the first part, "pa" (stand). Sit down and
say the second part, "per" (sit). Put it together: "paper."
If Correct: Great job. Let's
practice another one.
If Incorrect: Let's try it together one more time. Try to do what I do. "Pa" (stand up together), "per" (sit down together). "Paper." ![]()
